Indications

Acyclovir Ointment is indicated for the treatment of skin and mucous membrane infections caused by susceptible viruses, including herpes simplex types 1 and 2, as well as for the treatment of herpes zoster and varicella. This medication helps reduce the duration and severity of outbreaks of these viral infections by inhibiting virus replication in infected cells. Its use is recommended in the early stages of infection to maximize its effectiveness. Additionally, its topical application can be useful for managing herpetic lesions on the lips, face, and other exposed skin areas.

Composition

Each 100 g of ointment contains: Acyclovir 3 g. Excipients: White petrolatum, lanolin, among others.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to acyclovir or any of the excipients contained in the formula. Its use is not recommended for infections caused by viruses not susceptible to acyclovir.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Acyclovir Ointment in patients with impaired renal function. Furthermore, contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided. In case of an adverse reaction, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. Use in children under 2 years of age is not recommended unless directed by a doctor. It is important to follow the healthcare professional's instructions for proper use of the medication.

Storage

Store at room temperature (15-30°C) in a dry place. Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
