Indications
Aciclovir is indicated for the treatment of viral infections, specifically in the management of herpes simplex, herpes zoster, and varicella infections. This medication works by inhibiting viral replication, which helps reduce the severity and duration of symptoms in patients with herpes infections. It is effective in treating skin and mucous membrane lesions caused by the herpes simplex virus in immunocompetent patients, as well as in treating infections in immunosuppressed patients. Aciclovir is also used for the prophylaxis of herpes infections in patients who have received organ transplants or who are undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
Composition
Each 400 mg Aciclovir tablet contains:
- Aciclovir: 400 mg
- Excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Aciclovir or any component of the formula. Caution should be exercised in patients with renal impairment, as a dosage adjustment may be required.
Precautions
It is recommended to use Aciclovir with caution in patients with a history of kidney disease and in those who are dehydrated. Additionally, it is important to monitor kidney function during treatment. In case of adverse reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
