Indications

Accogem (Gemcitabine) is indicated for the treatment of various types of cancer. Its main use is in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and breast cancer in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents. This medication works by inhibiting DNA synthesis, leading to cell death in malignant tumors. It is essential that Gemcitabine treatment be administered under the supervision of a specialized physician, who will determine the most appropriate dose and regimen for each patient, taking into account their clinical condition and response to treatment.

Composition

Each milliliter of injectable solution contains 40 mg of Gemcitabine. Excipients are: sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, and water for injection.

Contraindications

Accogem is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Gemcitabine or any component of the formulation. Its use should also be avoided in patients with severe kidney disease or those with uncontrolled active infections.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with compromised liver function, as well as in those with a history of bleeding disorders. It is important to monitor hematologic function during treatment, as Gemcitabine can cause significant adverse effects on the bone marrow. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before starting treatment.

Storage

Accogem should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from light. The injectable solution should be kept at a temperature between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
