Indications

Accocit (Cisplatin) is indicated in the treatment of various malignant neoplasms. It is frequently used in the chemotherapy of testicular cancer, ovarian cancer, bladder cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer, among others. Its action is based on cisplatin's ability to interfere with DNA replication, leading to the apoptosis of cancer cells. Dosage and use must be determined by a specialized physician, based on the patient's clinical condition, the type of cancer, and the response to treatment.

Composition

Each ampule of Accocit contains 50 mg of cisplatin as the active ingredient. Additionally, it may contain excipients that facilitate the formulation and administration of the medication.

Contraindications

Accocit is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cisplatin or to any of the components of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with severely impaired renal function, as cisplatin is primarily eliminated renally. Furthermore, it should be avoided in patients with a history of severe hematological disorders.

Precautions

Caution is advised when using it in patients with dehydration, active infections, or those receiving radiotherapy in the same body area. Cisplatin can cause significant adverse effects, including nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity, requiring careful monitoring of renal function and the patient's general health during treatment. Additionally, a complete blood count should be performed before and during treatment to detect possible hematological abnormalities.

Storage

Accocit should be stored at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the medication after the expiration date indicated on the package.
