Indications

Ac-Vonda (methotrexate) is indicated for the treatment of various malignant neoplasms, as well as autoimmune diseases. It is commonly used in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, soft tissue sarcoma, and breast carcinoma. It is also prescribed for the management of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, where the aim is to reduce immune system activity and the proliferation of abnormal cells.

Composition

Each Ac-Vonda tablet contains 2.5 mg of methotrexate as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients such as lactose, corn starch, magnesium stearate, and other components that facilitate its formulation and stability.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to methotrexate or to any of the excipients. It should not be administered in cases of severe liver disease, severe renal failure, or in patients with active infections that may worsen their condition. Furthermore, its use during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated due to the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Precautions

Strict monitoring is recommended for patients receiving Ac-Vonda due to its potential to cause toxicity. It is essential to assess liver and kidney function before initiating treatment and during its use. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, lung diseases, and in those receiving other immunosuppressant medications.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and protect from light. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
