Indications
Ac-Vonda (methotrexate) is indicated in the treatment of various neoplastic diseases, including leukemias, lymphomas, and certain types of breast, lung, and head and neck cancer. It is also used in autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and severe psoriasis. This medication works by inhibiting DNA synthesis, which in turn limits cell growth in rapidly dividing cells, such as cancer cells and hyperactive immune system cells in autoimmune disorders.
Composition
Each Ac-Vonda tablet contains 2.5 mg of methotrexate as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients necessary for the product's formulation, which may vary depending on the laboratory.
Contraindications
Ac-Vonda is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to methotrexate or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in the presence of severe liver disease, severe renal insufficiency, or during pregnancy and lactation, unless the benefit outweighs the potential risk.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Ac-Vonda to patients with a history of liver, kidney, or hematological diseases. Regular monitoring of liver and kidney function and blood count is recommended during treatment. The use of methotrexate may increase susceptibility to infections, so the patient's condition should be carefully evaluated before starting treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
