Indications
A.F. Valdecasas (Folic Acid) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of folic acid deficiency, which can occur in various situations such as: 1. Pregnancy and lactation, where an increased intake of this nutrient is required for proper fetal development and maternal health. 2. Megaloblastic anemia caused by folic acid deficiency, characterized by the production of abnormal red blood cells. 3. Patients with intestinal malabsorption, where nutrient absorption is compromised. 4. In certain pathological conditions that increase the need for folic acid, such as some metabolic disorders. 5. As an adjuvant in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, where adequate folic acid levels have been observed to contribute to the reduction of homocysteine in the blood.
Composition
Each tablet contains: - Folic Acid 0.4 mg - Excipients: Lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with untreated anemia, as it may mask a vitamin B12 deficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering A.F. Valdecasas in patients with a history of nutrient absorption-related diseases. It is important to monitor vitamin B12 levels in patients using folic acid long-term, as a deficiency of this vitamin may go undetected. It is recommended to avoid using this medication without proper medical supervision.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
