Indications
Fermig is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults. Sumatriptan, its active ingredient, works by relieving headache and other symptoms associated with migraine, such as nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. This medication is used once the migraine has started and should not be used as a prophylactic. The effectiveness of the treatment is greater when administered in the early stages of a migraine attack.
Composition
Each Fermig tablet contains 50 mg of sumatriptan and excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Fermig is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to sumatriptan or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with ischemic heart disease, previous myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, or cerebrovascular disorders. Likewise, it is contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled hypertension.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, or a history of seizures, as well as in those with cardiovascular risk factors. Before starting treatment, it is important to perform a complete medical evaluation. Concomitant use with other medications containing sumatriptan or with other triptans should be avoided.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
