Indications

Xovluza is indicated for the treatment of acute, uncomplicated influenza in patients 12 years of age and older who have had symptoms of the illness for no more than 48 hours. This medication works by inhibiting the replication of the influenza virus, which helps to reduce the duration of symptoms and the severity of the illness. It is important to note that Xovluza is not a substitute for influenza vaccination and should not be used to prevent illness in healthy individuals.

Composition

Each Xovluza tablet contains 40 mg of baloxavir marboxil as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients that facilitate the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Xovluza is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to baloxavir marboxil or to any of the excipients in the formula. Additionally, its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency or in those who are being treated with certain antivirals that may interact with baloxavir marboxil.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Xovluza to patients with a history of chronic respiratory diseases, as well as in those with conditions that may compromise their immune system. Medical monitoring during treatment is essential to evaluate the response to the medication and the appearance of possible adverse effects.

Storage

Store in its original packaging at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
