Indications

Xovluza is indicated for the treatment of influenza in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older, with symptoms lasting no more than 48 hours. This medication is effective in reducing the duration of illness symptoms and preventing associated complications in at-risk populations. Its use is recommended for patients experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, and general malaise. Xovluza works by inhibiting the replication of the influenza virus, which contributes to a decrease in viral load in the body.

Composition

Each Xovluza tablet contains 20 mg of baloxavir marboxil as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients suitable for tablet formulation.

Contraindications

Xovluza is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to baloxavir marboxil or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic impairment or those receiving other antiviral medications without medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease. Likewise, it is recommended to evaluate the clinical condition of patients with cardiovascular or chronic pulmonary diseases before initiating treatment. The safety and efficacy of Xovluza in children under 12 years of age have not been established, so its use in this population should be carefully evaluated by a physician.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
