Indications

Viraprex is indicated for the treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections in immunocompromised patients, such as those who have received organ transplants or who have HIV/AIDS. It is also used to prevent CMV reactivation in patients at high risk of developing this infection, as well as for the treatment of CMV retinitis in immunocompromised patients. Ganciclovir acts by inhibiting viral replication, thereby helping to reduce the viral load in the patient's body and improving their clinical condition.

Composition

Each Viraprex ampoule contains: Ganciclovir 500 mg, excipients: water for injection, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide.

Contraindications

Viraprex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ganciclovir or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision, due to potential risks to the fetus or infant.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering ganciclovir to patients with impaired renal function, as dose adjustment may be required. In addition, it is important to monitor hematological function, as ganciclovir can cause leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia. Exposure to infections should be avoided during treatment, due to the immunosuppressive effect of the medication.

Storage

Viraprex should be stored at room temperature, in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.

  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
