Indications
Valtrover (Montelukast) is indicated for the treatment and prevention of asthma in adult and pediatric patients 12 months of age and older. This medication acts as a leukotriene receptor antagonist, which helps reduce airway inflammation and improve lung function. Additionally, it is used for the relief of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. Valtrover is effective in reducing exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, making it a suitable option for patients who experience symptoms related to physical exercise.
Composition
Each Valtrover tablet contains 10 mg of Montelukast as the active ingredient. Excipients include microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, and other inactive components that facilitate the medication's formulation.
Contraindications
Valtrover is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Montelukast or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Valtrover to patients with a history of liver disease or renal insufficiency. Likewise, patients presenting symptoms of Churg-Strauss syndrome should be monitored, as the onset of this condition has been observed in some patients treated with leukotriene antagonists.
Storage
Store Valtrover at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep the medication in its original packaging and out of the reach of children.
