Indications
Valdoxa is indicated for the treatment of major depressive episodes in adults. Its active composition, agomelatine, acts as a circadian rhythm modulator and has antidepressant and anxiolytic effects. It is commonly used in patients with symptoms of depression, sleep disturbances, and mood disorders, promoting an improvement in quality of life and the normalization of sleep-wake cycles. Agomelatine is particularly useful in patients who have not responded adequately to other antidepressant treatments. It is important that the use of this medication is under medical supervision, considering the individuality of each patient and their medical history.
Composition
Each tablet contains 25 mg of agomelatine as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to agomelatine or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with liver diseases or impaired liver function. Likewise, its use is not recommended in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and in patients who are taking oral anticoagulants or who have a high risk of bleeding.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of mania or manic episodes, as well as in those with epileptic disorders. Its use is not recommended in pediatric and geriatric populations without prior medical evaluation. Regular medical follow-up is important to assess the effectiveness of the treatment and the appearance of adverse effects.
Storage
Store in its original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, in a dry place and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
