Indications

Unival is a medication indicated for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, as well as for the prevention of their recurrence. It is also used in the management of erosive gastritis and in the protection of the gastrointestinal tract lining against irritating agents, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Sucralfate works by forming a protective barrier over ulcerative lesions, which allows proper healing and reduces the discomfort associated with these conditions. Additionally, it can be useful in the treatment of reflux esophagitis and in the prevention of stress ulcers in hospitalized patients.

Composition

Each Unival tablet contains 1 g of sucralfate as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.

Contraindications

Unival is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to sucralfate or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use should also be avoided in individuals with severe renal insufficiency, as it may affect drug elimination and increase the risk of adverse effects.

Precautions

It is recommended to use Unival with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, as the medication may contain sugars. Likewise, care should be taken in patients who are being treated with other medications, as sucralfate may interfere with the absorption of certain drugs.
