Indications

Trixona (Ceftriaxone) is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections, including:

  • Lower respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia and bronchitis.
  • Urinary tract infections.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections.
  • Sepsis and bacterial meningitis.
  • Intra-abdominal infections, such as peritonitis.
  • Prophylaxis in surgical procedures where there is a high risk of infection.

Ceftriaxone acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in the destruction of susceptible bacteria.

Composition

Each ampoule contains:

  • Ceftriaxone: 1 g
  • Excipients: Water for injection, among others.

Contraindications

Trixona is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or to any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other antibiotics.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. It is important to monitor renal function, especially in patients with a history of renal insufficiency. Liver function tests are recommended before starting treatment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep away from direct light. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
