Indications

Transtec is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain in patients requiring continuous opioid therapy. This medication is used in the management of chronic pain, especially in conditions that do not respond adequately to other analgesics. Buprenorphine, the active ingredient in Transtec, acts on opioid receptors in the central nervous system, providing an effective analgesic effect. This transdermal patch allows for continuous release of buprenorphine, ensuring stable drug levels in the body and facilitating long-term administration without the need for multiple daily doses.

Composition

Each Transtec patch contains 20 mg of buprenorphine. Excipients: (detail excipients if necessary).

Contraindications

Transtec is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to buprenorphine or any of the formulation components. It should not be used in patients with severe respiratory insufficiency, uncontrolled bronchial asthma, or in situations of central nervous system depression. It is also contraindicated in patients receiving treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have been treated with other opioids in the previous 24 hours.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of substance abuse, liver disease, respiratory disorders, or those concomitantly treated with other medications that may affect respiratory depression. It is important to monitor patients for signs of respiratory depression, especially at the beginning of treatment or when increasing the dose.
