Indications
Somnocal (Midazolam) is indicated for the induction of general anesthesia in surgical procedures. It is also used in patients with sleep disorders, providing a sedative and anxiolytic effect. Furthermore, it can be used for the sedation of patients in intensive care units and in minor diagnostic procedures that require sedation. Its rapid action and efficacy make it suitable for use in situations where controlled and safe sedation is required.
Composition
Each Somnocal ampoule contains Midazolam in a concentration of 50 mg, as well as the necessary excipients for its formulation.
Contraindications
Somnocal is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Midazolam or any component of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of severe respiratory insufficiency or in patients with untreated sleep apnea. Likewise, its use in patients with a history of substance abuse should be cautious.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in its administration to patients with chronic lung diseases, renal or hepatic insufficiency, as well as in those receiving other medications that may affect the central nervous system. It is important to monitor respiratory and cardiovascular function during its use. Its use in combination with other sedatives is not recommended without proper supervision from a healthcare professional.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
