Indications
Soloro is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain in adults. It is used in patients who require long-term pain management and who do not respond adequately to other analgesics. Buprenorphine, its active ingredient, acts on opioid receptors in the central nervous system, which helps relieve pain. This medication is suggested in specific clinical situations such as cancer-related pain, postoperative pain, and chronic non-cancer pain. It is important that the use of this medication be supervised by a healthcare professional, given its potential for dependence.
Composition
Each patch contains buprenorphine in a concentration of 5 mg. The formulation includes excipients that allow for the controlled release of the active ingredient through the skin.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to buprenorphine or any other component of the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of severe respiratory depression, acute or severe bronchial asthma, and in patients with severe hepatic or renal insufficiency. It is also contraindicated in patients who are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Precautions
Special care should be taken when administering this medication to patients with a history of substance abuse, as well as to those with chronic lung diseases, as it can cause respiratory depression.
