Indications

Rivotril is indicated in the treatment of anxiety disorders, panic disorders, epilepsy, and other convulsive disorders. Clonazepam acts as an anticonvulsant and anxiolytic, helping to control epileptic seizures and reduce anxiety in patients with generalized anxiety disorder. Additionally, it can be used in the management of withdrawal symptoms in alcohol withdrawal syndrome and in movement disorders such as restless legs syndrome.

Composition

Each Rivotril tablet contains 2 mg of clonazepam as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate, and other compounds that facilitate the formulation and stability of the medication.

Contraindications

Rivotril is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clonazepam or any of the excipients of the medication. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea syndrome, or in those with a history of substance abuse. Its use in pregnant and breastfeeding women must be carefully evaluated by a physician.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when prescribing Rivotril to patients with a history of depression, liver, or kidney diseases. This medication can cause dependence, so constant monitoring is recommended during treatment, and abrupt discontinuation should be avoided. The consumption of alcohol and other central nervous system depressants should be avoided during treatment with clonazepam.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
