Indications

Rivotril is indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and epilepsy. It is also used in the management of certain anxiety-related conditions, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Clonazepam acts as an anticonvulsant and anxiolytic agent, helping to reduce abnormal electrical activity in the brain, which contributes to its effectiveness in controlling seizures. It is also indicated for the treatment of panic attacks, providing relief from associated symptoms.

Composition

Each ml of Rivotril contains 2.5 mg of clonazepam. Excipients: glycerol, benzoic acid, purified water.

Contraindications

Rivotril is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clonazepam or any of the excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with myasthenia gravis, severe respiratory insufficiency, and those with untreated sleep apnea syndrome.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of substance abuse, depression, or liver diseases. During treatment, it is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption, as it may potentiate the sedative effects of the medication. Furthermore, prolonged use of clonazepam can lead to physical and psychological dependence, so long-term therapeutic alternatives should be considered.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
