Indications
Rezplen is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic respiratory infections caused by clarithromycin-sensitive microorganisms. These may include bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis. Additionally, it is used as a mucolytic to facilitate the expulsion of secretions in cases of respiratory diseases involving the production of thick and adhesive mucus. Its use is recommended in patients with COPD exacerbations and in those presenting with symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections.
Composition
Each tablet contains 500 mg of Clarithromycin and 45 mg of Ambroxol. Excipients are: starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other inactive components.
Contraindications
Rezplen is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clarithromycin, ambroxol, or any excipient in the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias or those taking medications that may cause serious interactions. Furthermore, it is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless specifically indicated by a physician.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with hepatic or renal diseases, as they may require a dose adjustment. In addition, monitoring is suggested in patients with a history of heart disease. Prolonged use of clarithromycin may lead to superinfections by non-susceptible organisms.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
