Indications
Pulmozyme (Dornase Alfa) is indicated for the treatment of cystic fibrosis in patients with preserved lung function. This medication acts as a mucolytic agent, facilitating the reduction of mucus viscosity in the airways, which in turn improves lung function and reduces the frequency of respiratory infections. It is essential in the management of the disease, as it helps maintain airway clearance and promotes a better quality of life in affected patients.
Composition
Each Pulmozyme ampule contains 2.5 mg/ml of dornase alfa, as well as excipients such as sodium chloride, water for injection, and other components necessary for the product formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dornase alfa or any of the excipients in the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe lung diseases or in those who experience adverse reactions to similar medications.
Precautions
It is recommended to evaluate lung function before and during treatment with Pulmozyme. Additionally, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney problems or who are being treated with other medications that may affect lung function. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions and regularly monitor the patient's condition during treatment.
Storage
Store at a temperature between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
