Indications
Preterax is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. The combination of perindopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, and indapamide, a diuretic, allows for effective blood pressure reduction. This medication may also be used for the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with established coronary heart disease or with cardiovascular risk factors, thus contributing to the improvement of quality of life and the reduction of complications associated with hypertension.
Composition
Each tablet contains:
- Perindopril 5 mg
- Indapamide 1.25 mg
Contraindications
Preterax is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with a history of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor treatments. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe aortic stenosis, severe renal failure, and during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with renal insufficiency, liver disease, or those undergoing treatment with diuretics. It is important to monitor blood pressure and kidney function at the start of treatment. Likewise, care should be taken in patients with diabetes mellitus, as they may be more susceptible to the hypotensive effects of the medication.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
