Indications

Perfalgan is indicated for the treatment of fever and mild to moderate pain. It is commonly used in situations such as:

  • Headache
  • Muscle pain
  • Post-operative pain
  • Pain associated with diseases such as arthritis
  • Fever in various medical conditions

Paracetamol acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system, which helps reduce fever and relieve pain. It is a preferred option in patients where the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is to be avoided.

Composition

Each Perfalgan ampoule contains 500 mg of paracetamol as an active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.

Contraindications

The use of Perfalgan is contraindicated in patients with:

  • Hypersensitivity to paracetamol or any of the product's excipients.
  • Severe liver disease.
  • Chronic alcoholism.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with:

  • Mild to moderate liver disease.
  • Dehydration.
  • Concomitant use of other paracetamol-containing medications.

It is important to avoid overdose, as it can cause severe liver damage.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, and protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
