Indications
Omnitrope is used in the treatment of growth disorders in children and adults with growth hormone deficiency. In children, it is indicated for the treatment of short stature associated with growth hormone deficiency, Turner syndrome, and in patients with chronic renal failure. In adults, it is used for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency, which can manifest with symptoms such as decreased muscle mass, increased body fat, and decreased quality of life. Additionally, it may be considered for the treatment of Prader-Willi syndrome and other specific medical conditions requiring elevated growth hormone levels.
Composition
Each Omnitrope cartridge contains 10 mg of somatropin, which is a recombinant form of human growth hormone, and excipients suitable for product formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with active tumors, in those with critical illness post-surgery, trauma, or respiratory complications, as well as in cases of known hypersensitivity to somatropin or any of the excipients of the medication. It should not be used in patients with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cancer, in those with certain medical conditions such as thyroid disorders or kidney function problems, as well as in patients undergoing corticosteroid treatment. Regular monitoring of blood glucose function is important, as the use of somatropin can alter carbohydrate metabolism.
Storage
Store refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Keep the cartridge in its original packaging and protect from light. Once opened, the product must be used within a specific period according to the manufacturer's instructions.
