Indications

Olmesartan Medoxomil is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. Blood pressure reduction helps to decrease the risk of cardiovascular events in hypertensive patients. It can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensives.

The administration of Olmesartan may be beneficial in patients who experience intolerance to other antihypertensives or who require a more specific approach to hypertension management. Continuous clinical evaluation should be considered to adjust the dose according to the patient's response to treatment.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Olmesartan Medoxomil 40 mg and excipients: Lactose, Starch, Croscarmellose sodium, Magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to olmesartan or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatment with ACE inhibitors or in those with bilateral renal artery stenosis or in a single functional kidney.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of renal insufficiency, liver diseases, or in those taking diuretics. Renal function and electrolytes should be monitored during treatment. In case of pregnancy or lactation, the use of the medication should be carefully considered, as it may affect the fetus or infant.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Keep in its original packaging and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
