Indications
Olmesartan Medoxomil is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. This medication works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a natural substance in the body that causes blood vessel constriction, resulting in a reduction in blood pressure. The use of Olmesartan can decrease the risk of cardiovascular events and improve the quality of life in hypertensive patients. It can also be used in combination with other antihypertensives for more effective blood pressure control.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Olmesartan Medoxomil 40 mg as the active ingredient. Excipients: Lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, starch, magnesium stearate and other excipients.
Contraindications
Olmesartan Medoxomil is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the excipients. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of angioedema associated with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor treatment. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, as well as in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis or in patients with severe renal insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of renal insufficiency, liver disease, dehydration, or hypovolemia. It is important to monitor renal function and potassium levels in patients receiving Olmesartan treatment. It should be used with care in patients who are taking diuretics or who have conditions that may increase the risk of hypotension.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
