Indications
Montelukast is indicated for the treatment and prevention of asthma symptoms in patients 6 months of age and older. It is also used in the management of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. The medication works by blocking leukotriene receptors, which helps reduce inflammation and constriction of the airways. Furthermore, Montelukast has been shown to improve asthma control and decrease the need for rescue medication. Its use may be beneficial in patients who experience nocturnal symptoms or who have exercise-induced asthma.
Composition
Each Montelukast tablet contains 5 mg of montelukast as an active ingredient, as well as excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, starch, and other inactive components.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to montelukast or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended for the acute treatment of asthmatic attacks.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver diseases, as well as in those who are being treated with other medications that may interact with montelukast. It is important to monitor patients for the possible appearance of adverse effects, especially during the first weeks of treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature below 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
