Indications
Mircera is indicated for the treatment of anemia in adult patients with chronic kidney disease. Specifically, it is used in patients undergoing dialysis treatment and in those who do not require dialysis. This medication works by stimulating the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow, which helps to increase hemoglobin levels and improve the patient's ability to perform daily activities. It is also indicated in patients with anemia associated with chemotherapeutic treatments in non-small cell lung cancer, as well as in other conditions causing severe anemia. It is important that the use of Mircera be supervised by a specialist physician, who will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment.
Composition
Each Mircera syringe contains 75 mcg of Methoxy Polyethylene Glycol Epoetin Beta and excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Methoxy Polyethylene Glycol Epoetin Beta or to any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered to patients with uncontrolled hypertension or to those who have had episodes of venous or arterial thromboembolism. Do not use in patients with anemia due to iron, vitamin B12, or folic acid deficiency, unless the deficiency has been corrected.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Mircera in patients with a history of hypertension, as it may cause an increase in blood pressure. It is advisable to constantly monitor hemoglobin levels and blood pressure during treatment. Furthermore, renal function and iron requirements should be assessed before initiating treatment.
Storage
Store in refrigeration between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
