Indications
Mircera is indicated for the treatment of anemia in adult patients with chronic kidney disease who require renal replacement therapy, as well as in patients with anemia associated with chemotherapy in certain types of cancer. This medication acts as an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent, promoting the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. Its use is essential in patients who need to improve their hemoglobin and reduce the need for blood transfusions. It is important that Mircera treatment is supervised by a physician and that regular checks of hemoglobin levels are performed to adjust the dose as needed.
Composition
Each Mircera syringe contains 20 mcg of Methoxy polyethylene glycol Epoetin Beta, as well as excipients that facilitate the administration and stability of the medication.
Contraindications
The use of Mircera is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formula, as well as in those with uncontrolled hypertension. It should also be avoided in patients with untreated iron deficiency anemia.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Mircera in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, as well as in those with medical conditions that may increase the risk of thromboembolic events. It is essential to monitor hemoglobin levels to avoid excessive increases, which can lead to serious complications.
