Indications
Mircera is indicated for the treatment of anemia in adult patients with chronic kidney disease who are undergoing hemodialysis treatment or those who are not receiving dialysis. This medication acts as an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent, helping to increase the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. It is also used in cancer patients who have chemotherapy-associated anemia. Mircera administration can improve hemoglobin levels and reduce the need for blood transfusions in these patients. It is important that Mircera's use be supervised by a specialist physician, who will determine the appropriate dose and treatment follow-up.
Composition
Each Mircera syringe contains 150 mcg of Methoxy polyethylene glycol epoetin beta and excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Mircera is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Methoxy polyethylene glycol epoetin beta or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in cases of uncontrolled hypertension and in patients with a history of uncontrolled seizures.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, as treatment with Mircera may increase blood pressure. It is recommended to monitor hemoglobin levels and blood pressure regularly during treatment. Likewise, care should be taken in patients with a history of allergic reactions or who have pre-existing medical conditions that may complicate treatment.
Storage
Store in refrigeration between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
