Indications
Mafena is indicated for the treatment of various painful and inflammatory conditions. Its main indications include: the management of acute pain, such as postoperative pain, dental pain, and pain associated with sports injuries. It is also used in the treatment of rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, where it helps reduce inflammation and joint pain. It can also be used in cases of primary dysmenorrhea, relieving menstrual cramps. Diclofenac acts by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, medications that are responsible for generating pain and inflammation.
Composition
Each Mafena tablet contains 50 mg of diclofenac sodium as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate, which facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to diclofenac or any component of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with active gastric or duodenal ulcers, bleeding disorders, or severe renal insufficiency. It is also contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Mafena should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, heart failure, high blood pressure, or liver diseases. It is important to monitor renal function during treatment, especially in elderly patients or those taking other medications that affect renal function.
