Indications
Madopar is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of Parkinson's disease and parkinsonian syndrome. Levodopa is a precursor of dopamine and works by increasing the levels of this neurotransmitter in the brain, which helps improve mobility and reduce the rigidity and tremor associated with the disease. Benserazide acts as an inhibitor of levodopa decarboxylation in the peripheral system, thus increasing the availability of levodopa in the brain and decreasing peripheral side effects.
Composition
Each Madopar tablet contains:
- 100 mg Levodopa
- 25 mg Benserazide
Contraindications
Madopar is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in cases of narrow-angle glaucoma, in patients who have received MAO inhibitors within two weeks prior to treatment, and in those with a history of severe adverse reactions to levodopa or benserazide.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Madopar to patients with a history of heart, respiratory, or psychiatric diseases. Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended, and treatment should be discontinued if symptoms of dyskinesia or behavioral changes occur. The use of Madopar in combination with certain medications, such as antipsychotics, is not recommended without proper medical supervision.
Storage
Store in its original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
