Indications

Madopar is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and Parkinson's syndrome secondary to other disorders. This medication helps improve motor and non-motor symptoms associated with this disease, such as rigidity, bradykinesia, and tremors. Levodopa is a precursor to dopamine, a substance that is decreased in patients with Parkinson's, while Benserazide acts as a decarboxylase inhibitor, which helps increase the availability of Levodopa in the central nervous system.

Composition

Each Madopar tablet contains 100 mg of Levodopa and 25 mg of Benserazide. It also includes excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation and absorption of the medication.

Contraindications

Madopar is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Levodopa, Benserazide, or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with closed-angle glaucoma, severe liver or kidney disorders, as well as those with a history of melanoma or malignant skin diseases.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Madopar in patients with a history of cardiovascular, psychiatric, or pulmonary disease. It is recommended to monitor blood pressure and the appearance of involuntary movements during treatment. Furthermore, it is important to adjust the dose in elderly patients or those with renal impairment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
