Indications
Lopresor (Metoprolol) is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension, in the management of angina pectoris, as well as in the prevention of myocardial infarction in patients with a history of coronary heart disease. In addition, it is used in stable chronic heart failure and in the control of certain cardiac arrhythmias. This medication works by decreasing heart rate and blood pressure, which helps reduce the burden on the heart.
Composition
Each Lopresor tablet contains 100 mg of metoprolol in the form of metoprolol succinate, as well as excipients such as lactose and starch, which facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Lopresor is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to metoprolol or any of the product's components. It should not be administered in cases of severe bradycardia, second or third-degree atrioventricular block, bronchial asthma, or uncontrolled chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Lopresor to patients with moderate renal or hepatic insufficiency, as well as those with a history of lung disease. It is advisable to monitor blood pressure and heart rate during treatment. Treatment should not be discontinued abruptly, as it may lead to a rebound hypertensive syndrome.

Store in a dry and cool place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
