Indications
Lometopan is indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory and allergic conditions of the respiratory tract, such as seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, as well as for the treatment of nasal polyps. Mometasone, its active ingredient, acts by reducing inflammation and relieving associated symptoms, including nasal congestion, sneezing, and itching. This medication is effective in managing symptoms related to sinusitis and in controlling allergic reactions, providing significant relief to patients suffering from these conditions.
Composition
Each 1 ml of suspension contains 0.5 mg of mometasone (as mometasone furoate). Excipients: sodium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic sodium phosphate, purified water.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mometasone or to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in untreated upper respiratory tract infections.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with viral, tuberculous, or fungal infections in the nose or paranasal sinuses. Prolonged use of corticosteroids can lead to systemic adverse effects. It is important to monitor adrenal function in patients receiving this treatment for prolonged periods.
