Indications

Levetiracetam is indicated for the treatment of partial epileptic seizures in adults and children from 4 years of age. It is also used in the treatment of primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures and myoclonic seizures in patients with epilepsy. This medication is prescribed as part of a therapeutic regimen that may include other antiepileptic drugs for better seizure control. Its use in patients with specific neurological disorders should be individually evaluated by a medical specialist.

Composition

Each tablet contains 1000 mg of levetiracetam as an active ingredient. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and other inactive excipients as per formulation.

Contraindications

Levetiracetam is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levetiracetam or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation unless the benefits outweigh the risks.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney problems, as the dose may require adjustment. Likewise, it is important to monitor patients for the possible appearance of neuropsychiatric adverse effects, such as depression, anxiety, or behavioral changes. Regular medical evaluation is recommended during treatment with levetiracetam.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Storage temperature should not exceed 30 °C.
