Indications

Lacosamide is indicated as adjunctive therapy in adult patients with partial onset seizures, with or without secondary generalization. This medication works by stabilizing abnormal electrical activity in the brain, helping to reduce the frequency and severity of seizures. Additionally, it can be used in the management of neuropathic pain in adults, offering relief to those suffering from persistent pain associated with neurological conditions.

Composition

Each tablet contains 50 mg of Lacosamide, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption. It is important to check the product label for a complete list of ingredients.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Lacosamide or any of the excipients that make up the product. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of heart problems, such as heart block or arrhythmias, as Lacosamide may affect the heart's electrical conduction.

Precautions

It is recommended to monitor patients with a history of heart disease and those taking other medications that may affect heart function.
