Indications
Kenciclen is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is effective in the management of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, as well as in the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia. It is also used in the treatment of Rocky Mountain spotted fever and in the prophylaxis of malaria. Doxycycline works by interfering with bacterial protein synthesis, which results in the inhibition of the growth and multiplication of pathogenic microorganisms. It is important that the use of this medication is based on the correct identification of the causative agent of the infection and its sensitivity to doxycycline.
Composition
Each capsule contains 100 mg of doxycycline, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Kenciclen is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to doxycycline or any of the formula's components. Its use is not recommended in children under 8 years of age or in pregnant or breastfeeding women, due to the risk of adverse effects on the bone and dental development of the fetus or nursing child.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those with esophageal disorders, as doxycycline can cause gastrointestinal irritation. It is advisable to avoid excessive sun exposure during treatment, as this medication may increase skin sensitivity to solar radiation.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
