Indications
Kastandi is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders and generalized anxiety disorders in adults. It is also used in the management of diabetic neuropathic pain and in the treatment of fibromyalgia. Duloxetine works by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, which helps to improve mood and relieve pain.
Composition
Each Kastandi tablet contains 60 mg of duloxetine as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, among others, which facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
Kastandi is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to duloxetine or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients with closed-angle glaucoma. It is also contraindicated in those with severe hepatic impairment or severe renal impairment.
Precautions
Precautions should be taken in patients with a history of manic disorders, seizures, or those at risk of suicide. Additionally, it is important to evaluate concomitant use with other medications that affect the central nervous system. Monitoring is recommended in patients over 65 years of age and in those with pre-existing cardiovascular diseases.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
