Indications
Isox is indicated for the treatment of various fungal infections, including but not limited to onychomycosis (nail infection), candidiasis (Candida fungal infection), and various systemic mycoses such as aspergillosis and histoplasmosis. This medication works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, which results in the death of fungal cells. It is recommended that the use of Isox be supervised by a healthcare professional, considering the particular characteristics of each patient and the nature of the infection to be treated.
Composition
Each Isox capsule contains 100 mg of Itraconazole as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that allow for the formulation of the medication, which may include gelatin, titanium dioxide, and other inactive components suitable for encapsulation.
Contraindications
Isox is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Itraconazole or any of the formulation's components. Its use should also be avoided in patients with congestive heart failure or in those receiving medications that may interact with Itraconazole, causing serious adverse effects.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as well as in pregnant or breastfeeding individuals. Adequate monitoring is essential in patients with pre-existing medical conditions, as well as in those undergoing treatment with other drugs that may induce interactions.
Storage
Isox should be stored at room temperature, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
