Indications
Isox is indicated for the treatment of various fungal infections, including, but not limited to, vaginal candidiasis, onychomycosis, aspergillosis, and other systemic mycotic infections. It is used in patients with fungal infections susceptible to itraconazole, as well as in those requiring prophylaxis in immunocompromised situations. Administration should be supervised by a physician to determine the appropriate duration and dosage according to the severity of the infection and the patient's response to treatment.
Composition
Each capsule contains: Itraconazole 100 mg. Excipients: Povidone, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Isox is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to itraconazole or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered during pregnancy or to breastfeeding women, unless deemed absolutely necessary by a physician. It is also contraindicated in patients with congestive heart failure or in those receiving certain medications that may interact negatively with itraconazole.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, as itraconazole is mainly metabolized in the liver. Regular monitoring of liver function is recommended during treatment. In addition, interaction with other medications should be evaluated, as itraconazole can alter the metabolism of co-administered drugs.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
