Indications
Hydrochlorothiazide is indicated in the treatment of essential hypertension, as an adjuvant agent in the treatment of congestive heart failure and in the reduction of edema associated with conditions such as hepatic cirrhosis and nephrotic syndrome. It is also used in the management of hypocalcemia and in the prevention of kidney stones due to hypocalciuria.
Composition
Each hydrochlorothiazide tablet contains 25 mg of the active ingredient hydrochlorothiazide, as well as excipients such as starch, lactose, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to hydrochlorothiazide or to any component of the formulation. It should not be used in cases of anuria, severe renal insufficiency, and during pregnancy and lactation, unless deemed necessary by a physician. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of gout, diabetes mellitus, or electrolyte disorders.
Precautions
Periodic monitoring of renal function and electrolytes is recommended in patients treated with hydrochlorothiazide. This medication may increase the risk of hypokalemia, so care should be taken in patients receiving other drugs that may affect potassium levels. The possibility of adverse reactions in patients with a history of allergies or asthma should also be considered.

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
