Indications

Gantena (rosuvastatin) is indicated for the treatment of dyslipidemia, including primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is used to reduce levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins), apolipoprotein B, and triglycerides, as well as to increase HDL cholesterol (high-density lipoproteins) levels. This medication is effective in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, and those with cardiovascular risk factors. Additionally, it is prescribed as part of a comprehensive approach that includes diet and exercise changes.

Composition

Each Gantena tablet contains 20 mg of rosuvastatin as the active ingredient. Excipients include: mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, and other inactive components that facilitate formulation.

Contraindications

Gantena is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or any of the excipients in the formulation, in those with active liver disease or persistent transaminase elevations, and in pregnant or breastfeeding women. It should also be avoided in patients receiving certain medications that may interact with rosuvastatin.

Precautions

Special precautions should be taken in patients with a history of liver disease, myopathy, or rhabdomyolysis. Monitoring of liver and muscle function is recommended during treatment, as is evaluating for symptoms of muscle weakness or pain. Furthermore, dose adjustment is important in patients with moderate to severe renal insufficiency.

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and out of reach of children.
