Indications

Fosfocil (Fosfomycin) is indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, including uncomplicated cystitis. It is used in cases of urinary infections in women and in the treatment of infections in patients at risk of complications. Fosfomycin acts by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, leading to the death of the bacteria responsible for the infection. Its use must be evaluated and supervised by a doctor, who will determine the appropriate duration and dosage according to the patient's clinical case.

Composition

Each Fosfocil sachet contains 2 g of fosfomycin as fosfomycin trometamol, as well as the excipients necessary for the product's formulation.

Contraindications

Fosfocil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fosfomycin or to any of the product's excipients. Caution should also be exercised in patients with renal insufficiency, as the elimination of the medication may be affected.

Precautions
