Indications

Etoricoxib is indicated for the treatment of various painful and inflammatory conditions. This medication is used in the management of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is also used in the treatment of acute pain, including postoperative pain and pain associated with sports injuries. Etoricoxib's action is based on the selective inhibition of the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, which helps reduce the synthesis of prostaglandins, compounds that mediate inflammation and pain.

Composition

Each Etoricoxib tablet contains 90 mg of Etoricoxib as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients such as lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, among others, which facilitate the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Etoricoxib is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the excipients. It should not be used in patients with a history of active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, or severe renal insufficiency. Likewise, it is contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy and in situations where serious adverse reactions may occur.

Precautions

Etoricoxib should be used with caution in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, moderate hepatic or renal insufficiency. It is essential to assess the risk of gastrointestinal adverse effects in patients over 65 years of age or in those taking other NSAIDs or anticoagulants.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
