Indications
Durater is indicated for the treatment of diseases related to excessive gastric acid production. Its main uses include the management of gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux esophagitis. Additionally, it is used for the prevention of gastric ulcers induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in patients at risk of developing these complications. Its effectiveness has also been demonstrated in the treatment of conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, which is characterized by excessive gastric secretion. It should be used under the supervision of a physician, who will determine the duration of treatment and the appropriate dose according to the individual needs of the patient.
Composition
Each Durater tablet contains 40 mg of famotidine as the active ingredient. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, magnesium stearate, and talc.
Contraindications
Durater is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to famotidine or to any of the product's excipients. Caution should also be exercised in patients with severe renal insufficiency, as the elimination of famotidine may be affected.
Precautions
It is recommended to use Durater with caution in patients with a history of liver disease and in those who are receiving concomitant treatments that may alter liver or kidney function. Likewise, the possibility of drug interactions should be considered and the risk assessed in elderly patients or those with multiple comorbidities.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
