Indications
Clamoxin S is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. This medication is effective in treating upper and lower respiratory tract infections, including sinusitis, otitis media, bronchitis, and pneumonia. It is also used for urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as dental infections. Its use is especially relevant in cases where there is resistance to amoxicillin, as the combination with clavulanic acid enhances its antibacterial effect and reduces bacterial resistance.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains: Amoxicillin (600 mg) and Clavulanic Acid (42.9 mg).
Contraindications
Clamoxin S is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, or any other component of the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of jaundice or liver dysfunction associated with the use of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of liver disease, kidney disease, or in those with severe infections. Medical monitoring is recommended if diarrhea occurs, as it may be a sign of pseudomembranous colitis. It is essential to follow medical instructions and not exceed the recommended dose.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
