Indications

Cellcept is indicated as immunosuppressive therapy in patients who have received an organ transplant (such as kidney, heart, or liver) to prevent graft rejection. Its use is common in combination with other immunosuppressive medications, such as cyclosporine and corticosteroids, to improve treatment efficacy. It has also been used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, where the goal is to reduce the activity of the immune system. It is essential that Cellcept is used under the supervision of a physician, who will assess the need and appropriate dose for each patient.

Composition

Each Cellcept tablet contains 500 mg of Mycophenolate Mofetil as the active ingredient. Excipients are: corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, talc, and other inactive components that allow for the tablet's formulation.

Contraindications

Cellcept is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Mycophenolate Mofetil or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation, unless necessary and under strict medical supervision, due to the risk of adverse effects on the fetus or infant.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of recurrent infections, liver or kidney disease, and in those receiving other immunosuppressive therapies. It is important to regularly monitor renal and hepatic function during treatment. In addition, hematological monitoring is recommended to detect possible leukopenia or anemia.

Storage

Cellcept should be stored in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Do not use the medication after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
