Indications

Carbamazepine is indicated for the treatment of partial and generalized epileptic seizures, as well as for the management of bipolar affective disorder. It is also used in the treatment of neuropathic pain and in some cases of trigeminal neuralgia. Its efficacy in controlling seizures has been well documented and it is considered a first-line medication in anticonvulsant therapy.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Carbamazepine 200 mg. Excipients: corn starch, talc, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

Carbamazepine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to carbamazepine or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of a history of severe hematological disorders, such as aplastic anemia or agranulocytosis. Additionally, its use is contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease and in those receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in its use in patients with a history of heart disease, liver or kidney problems. It is important to monitor liver and hematological function during treatment, as cases of hepatotoxicity and blood abnormalities have been reported. It is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
